Welcome!

The Balloon Association of Victoria club competition this year will be held on the long weekend in September Friday 27th - Sunday 29th at Benalla  .  First flight AM Friday 27th September and last flight Sunday 29th September AM.  There may be an afternoon flight on Saturday.

Steve Ireland has agreed to come back this year and set the tasks.  It will be a relaxed weekend and flying in the afternoon is a possibility on the Saturday.

What you will need, over and above your normal flying equipment:

* The new FAI Balloon Live app on your phone.  More information will come about this soon as we learn how to use it.
* Proof you have paid your BAV membership!
* Endorsement to fly from a non-towered aerodrome (many of our flights will be from to to the Benalla Airport).
* Your own crew who will also act as "observer" for you. The observer will be able to help set up the balloon, so it doesn't need to be an "extra" person.
* A measuring tape, at least 30 metres but preferably longer.  Something like this https://www.bunnings.com.au/stanley-fatmax-60m-fibreglass-open-frame-long-tape_p0029760
* Your own Benalla competition map marked up with the PZ's and SZ's.  There are spares available at the hut (I think?) for $10 each.
* Clipboard
* Donation of $20 per pilot to help cover some of the costs.

This weekend is also a good opportunity for students to team up with another pilot as crew to gain some competition experience.

We look forward to seeing you there!
